We are so proud of Gracie!!!

I can't begin to tell you how proud we are of our daughter right now!!! I have not had to change one diaper this week! Wow!!! Thank you God for this being such an easy transition in Gracie's life!! Gracie's last day at Fountain City Preschool was yesterday and her teachers looked a little surprised when we walked in and proudly announced that Gracie had on big girl underwear!! She did great at school. We had a little accident in Walmart!! We were shopping for a toy (Gracie got to pick out a toy for doing so well at school):) The pee pee ran down her leg drenching her pants, shoes, socks and the floor!! There happen to be a sales assosiate coming around the corner and we told her what happened. She told us that is was nice that we told her about it, she said most people just walk off and leave it (disgusting)!!! Not only is that disgusting, but someone could have slipped and fell!! Oh well, accidents are going to happen! The past 2 and a half years have gone by so fast! I remember when we were trying to wean her from her bottle and now we are potty training. It has been the best 2 and a half years of my life!!

New Update On Potty Training Gracie

Gracie has used the potty all day long today!!! This is a major deal for us!! She even used the potty once by herself without me asking her if she needed to go. Wow!! We are so very proud of her and I hope all goes well the rest of the week!! To be honest, I was really dreading the process of potty training. I knew Gracie could do it, but she is very stubborn!! I think she just made up her mind that it was time to learn how to potty. I never thought I would get so excited about seeing pee pee in a potty!!! We let her empty the potty cup in the big toilet and flush of course. She thinks that is the greatest thing!! I will keep you posted to see how things are going!!

Potty Training week!!!

We started trying to potty train Gracie on mothers day. It did not start out very well!! She did not want to set on the potty or have anything to do with it. So we sat one of her baby dolls on there that had a diaper on. We told her that the baby was ready to throw her diaper away! She began to look a little interested. So we sat sheepy on there next ( everyone knows how much sheepy means to Gracie:) She did stay dry for awhile and them proceeded to stand out in the sunroom with legs apart and pee pee it went!!! So we changed her and sat her back on the potty. She decided that she wanted to go home with mimi and papa to spend the night. My mom called me when they got home and Gracie had went to the potty! Yah!!! Gracie was very proud of what she had done and mimi and papa praised her!! Mom called me this morning to say that Gracie had went to the potty again!!! Yah!! We are so proud of her and know that this week will be challenging as we try to potty train, but she is already doing well for using the potty two times. I will keep you posted this week on how the owen family potty boot camp is going!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful mothers day!! We started the day by going to church at Smithwood and my parents met us and went to church to celebrate mothers day. We had time to go home and rest awhile, then we had our mothers over for supper. We always have a great time with our familys and it means so much to Brad and I when we can get the both of them together at the same time! Gracie has the best time trying to entertain her poppop, gramma, uncle wes, papa, mimi and uncle eric. She doesn't know who to go to when we are all together!! It was a great meal! Thank you poppop for the delicous grilled pork and chicken. You are best griller ever!!! Thank you mimi for the wonderful green beans and cornbread, plus your sweet tea!! We love our families and thank God everday for them!! Brad and I are so fortunate to have such wonderful mothers! We love you and hope you had a wonderful mother's day!!!

Oh Happy Day!!

Gracie is going to be a big sitster!! We just found out that we are expecting and we are in the very early stages of pregnancy. Please pray for this pregnancy and that God will just surround this pregnancy and nourish this little life to grow! Some of you probaly already know, but we had an early miscarriage in December of 2007. I have been to the doctor the past two days and my Hcg levels have rose from 29 to 74! That is a great sign that the pregnancy is progressing along. We actually had an appointment with a fertiliy doctor this Thursday! Wow, God really is amazing!
Thank you for your prayers! The Owen Family.

Myrtle Beach Vacation From Last September

I wanted to post these pictures because they are some of my favorite pictures of Gracie playing on the beach. These were taken in Sept. of 2007 when my parents took us to the beach. Mimi and papa, we are ready to go again!!! I hope we get to go sometime this summer to the beach! Gracie loved playing in the sand, but was a little unsure of the ocean. This was the first vacation that I had with my parents in a long time. We had a great time!!!

A Day At The Lake

We took Alex to the lake today to go swimming. He loves the water. He enjoys jumping off of the dock on Melton Hill lake in Oak Ridge. Gracie enjoyed throwing Alex's retrieving toy.

Gracie Playing At Mimi Papa's House

Gracie loves to go to mimi and papa's house on the farm. We went over one day this week to visit and Gracie had a blast playing on the driveway on her horse that scoots. The pictures show how much fun she was having!!

A Visit From Mrs.Mary

Mrs. Mary came for her last visit until Fall. Mrs. Mary is with the Knox County birth to kindergarden program. She is the sweetest lady!! Gracie looks forward to each month that Mrs. Mary comes to visit. I decided to snap some pictures of Gracie with Mrs. Mary at her last visit. Gracie did not want to be still! Mrs. Mary was truly given the most wonderful personality to be a teacher. I truly believe that God called her to be a teacher. We have enjoyed Mrs. Mary and will miss her visits this summer!
