Ted Jacob Owen Is Here!!!!!

Jake came into the world today at 8:00am this morning. We were scheduled to be here at 10:00, but my water broke at 5:30am this morning!!! He was born by c-section and weighed 9lbs, 5 ounces and 21 inches long!!! He has a head full of dark hair!!! We are all doing great and feel so blessed to have many friends and family to share this time in our lives!!! Enjoy the pics!!!!

The big day!!!

Ted Jacob Owen is due to arrive on December 31st by c-section! My doctors gave me the decision to either go tomorrow or Friday. My blood pressure was high today, so Brad and I decided not to wait any longer!!! We will be checking into labor and delivery at UT hospital at 10:00 Wed morning and the surgery is scheduled for 12:00 noon. Please keep us and Gracie in your prayers!! We will post pics and an update as soon as Jake arrives!!! Love, Joni

37wk Check-up

I had my 37week check-up today and everything still looks the same, which is good news!!!! My c-section surgery has been changed back to Jan 2nd instead of Jan 5th. I saw Dr. Shirk today and he said that the would be at the hospital that morning and would be glad to do the c-section!!!! That works out great for me because he is my favorite Doc in the group!! I could still go into labor at anytime, so please keep us in your prayers! I would rather not be in the hospital on Christmas! I am feeling pretty good, some contractions here and there, but that is normal!! Please pray for a healthy baby, surgery and recovery for all of us!!!! Love, Joni

Happy Birthday to Brad and My Brother Eric!!!!!

Today is my sweetie's 32nd birhtday and my brother's 36th birthday!!!! We thought last night that we might be adding a third birthday to December 22nd!! I was having some strange pains for awhile, but they went away! They were not consistent contractions, so I guess they were just braxton hicks!! Thank you Brad for being a wonderful husband and father to Gracie. You are a man of God and I thank the Lord for you everyday!!! Thank you for working hard everyday, so that I can stay home with our children!!! Can't wait to meet our new addition soon!!! Happy birthday to two great guys!!!!!!!

36wks pregnant and counting!!

I am now 36wks pregnant!!! I had a dr's appt today and I am measuring at 37wks. My c-section date has changed from Jan. 2 to Monday Jan. 5. The reason for this is the dr that I scheduled with is not working that Friday. I want a dr that I am familiar with to be operating on me!!! So with that said there are two drs from my group on Monday Jan. 5 that I am more comfortable with!! Who knows, I may not have a choice if he comes early!! The group of drs that I go to are all great, but I have my favorties! The one that delivered Gracie is no longer with the group, but that is ok!! My favorite is Dr. James Shirk and he is the one that I chose first to do my c-section, but he is not going to be on call Friday or Monday. I don't think that my stomach can get any bigger!!! I can't even put my socks on anymore!!! Oh well, a small price to pay to finally get to hold Jake in my arms!! Please continue to keep us in your prayers for a healthy delivery and baby! Please pray for Gracie as she becomes a big sister and as this new little person enters our family, I pray that she does well with all the changes!!

Rice Krispie Treat Fun!!!

I love rice krispie treats!! I think they are my favorite dessert! Gracie and I decided that we wanted to make some last night. The homemade version tastes so much better than the kind you buy at the store! I think she is going to be our future chef in the house! I let her stir and add the marshmallows and rice krispies. She loved adding the Christmas sprinkles!! I enjoy her at this age because she can do so much, sometimes too much!! She has that independent attitude right now!!! She has her good and bad days, but I thank God for her everyday whether she is behaving or not. She will go through many stages in life whether she is three or thirteen!!! We had so much fun and this weekend we will make homemade sugar cookies. Stay tuned for more pics!!!

My Friend Miranda turns the big 30!!!!

I am posting this a day early to say happy, happy birhtday to my best friend Miranda!!! She will be turning 30 on Tuesday, December 9th!! We go all the way back to high school together!! I can say that she is older than me, since I don't turn 30 until December 29th!!! She is a wonderful friend and always has a listening ear when I need someone to talk to! I don't know what I would do without her!!! Miranda, hope you have a wonderful 30th birthday!!!!!

Gingerbread House

Brad and I were shopping at Target today when we spotted a gingerbread house for Gracie. I think Brad was more excited about it than Gracie!! They had a blast putting it together! I helped out a little bit, but I let them do most of it together! I was the photographer for this precious memory that I hope we can do every year. 35 weeks pregnant and counting!!!

Today, I am now 35 weeks pregnant!! I think Jake is getting so big that there is not much room for him to move around!!! I go to the doctor on Monday for my check-up and an ultrasound. They are checking to see what kind of position he is in. After this appointment I will start going every week until he arrives!! Gracie was born at 36 and a half weeks weighing 7pds and 5ounces. I finally feel like I have everything in order for his arrival!!! My bags are packed and ready to go!! I will keep everyone posted through email or our blog page, so keep checking in!!!
