Ted Jacob Owen is due to arrive on December 31st by c-section! My doctors gave me the decision to either go tomorrow or Friday. My blood pressure was high today, so Brad and I decided not to wait any longer!!! We will be checking into labor and delivery at UT hospital at 10:00 Wed morning and the surgery is scheduled for 12:00 noon. Please keep us and Gracie in your prayers!! I had my 37week check-up today and everything still looks the same, which is good news!!!! My c-section surgery has been changed back to Jan 2nd instead of Jan 5th. I saw Dr. Shirk today and he said that the would be at the hospital that morning and would be glad to do the c-section!!!! That works out great for me because he is my favorite Doc in the group!! I could still go into labor at anytime, so please keep us in your prayers! I would rather not be in the hospital on Christmas! I am feeling pretty good, some contractions here and there, but that is normal!! Please pray for a healthy baby, surgery and recovery for all of us!!!! Love, Joni
I am now 36wks pregnant!!! I had a dr's appt today and I am measuring at 37wks. My c-section date has changed from Jan. 2 to Monday Jan. 5. The reason for this is the dr that I scheduled with is not working that Friday. I want a dr that I am familiar with to be operating on me!!! So with that said there are two drs from my group on Monday Jan. 5 that I am more comfortable with!! Who knows, I may not have a choice if he comes early!! The group of drs that I go to are all great, but I have my favorties! The one that delivered Gracie is no longer with the group, but that is ok!! My favorite is Dr. James Shirk and he is the one that I chose first to do my c-section, but he is not going to be on call Friday or Monday. I don't think that my stomach can get any bigger!!! I can't even put my socks on anymore!!! Oh well, a small price to pay to finally get to hold Jake in my arms!! Please continue to keep us in your prayers for a healthy delivery and baby! Please pray for Gracie as she becomes a big sister and as this new little person enters our family, I pray that she does well with all the changes!!
I am posting this a day early to say happy, happy birhtday to my best friend Miranda!!! She will be turning 30 on Tuesday, December 9th!! We go all the way back to high school together!! I can say that she is older than me, since I don't turn 30 until December 29th!!! She is a wonderful friend and always has a listening ear when I need someone to talk to! I don't know what I would do without her!!! Miranda, hope you have a wonderful 30th birthday!!!!!
We would like to wish everyone a very happy thanksgiving!!! We have so much to be thankful for!!! God sends us many blessings everyday and to him we are most thankful for!!!! We spent the day with family and eating way too much!!! Gracie is still trying to get over a cold and now I have caught her cold again!!! We are spending the weekend at home trying to get better! Brad has gone to Ohio for the night to an old car parts flea market! I guess to us women it would be like a purse, clothes and jewelry show!!! It has become tradition for him and his dad to do this every year. Please pray for this cold virus to leave our home!!! It seem like we just pass it back and forth!!!! Sorry no pics, I forgot my camera yesterday!!!
Brad, Gracie and I went last night and saw Madagascar. It was the cutest movie!!!! Gracie loved the movie and did very well the whole time!!! To be honest, I was a little worried as to how she would do. We took care of potty breaks at the beginning and did not have to go back! That is wonderful for a three year old and a pregnant woman to not have to visit the bathroom a hundrend times during a movie!! We went to the Regal theatre uptown and it was very nice!!! We have not been to the movies in forever!! It was worth the price to see Gracie at her first movie, but I can't believe it cost $9 to get in now for adults!!! We did go all out last night and purchased popcorn and coke, which cost $11. Me, being pregnant, just had to have some candy, which was $8. But the memories of going are priceless!!! I told Brad that I should have taken the camera and he gave me the look!!!! That might have been a little much!! We had the best time together, just the three of us!!! We better get out now and do things just the three amigos, for baby Jake will be here before we know it!!! Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to meet him, but sometimes I think that it will never be just the three of us anymore! I'm sure it will be wonderful to be a family of four and I am very blessed to be pregnant and having my second child!! Just getting a little nervous now the closer that it gets!! I am not worried about the whole newborn thing again, but I really hope and pray the Gracie will transition well!!! I love her so much and just want her to be happy with little Jake! She will make a great big sister, but I know it will be a big change for her!! Please keep us in your prayers as we transition to a family of four soon!! Please pray for a healthy delivery as I will be having another c-section and for a healthy baby!!!!!
I am already having braxton hicks contractions!!! I started having them on Monday and they do get better when I lie down to rest. I had a drs appt on Thurs, but decided I better go in on Wed. It took two doctors to check my cervix!!!! Pregnant women out there know how painful that is!!!! She said that my cervix is very posterior, whatever that means! I just know that it hurt while they were checking!!! I am already 1cm dialated!!! My dr said that this was normal for a second pregnancy and no need to be worried! I am not due until the first of Jan!!!! I think baby Jake really wants to come sooner than what we think!!! Please keep us in your prayers that he does not come out until he is a healthy baby!!! Gracie kept asking me while we were there if Jake was coming yet and if she was going to be a big sister yet!!! It was very cute!! She likes to entertain everyone in the waiting room of the drs office!! She likes to say out loud the name of the patients that are called back after the nurse calls there name. Most of the time mispronouncing there names!! She is our funny girl!!!!
