The Stomach Bug!!!!

I have been dealing with a stomach virus all week and let's say it's even worse when you are pregnant!!!! I think Gracie carried this virus into the house last weekend. It kind of comes and goes. I have not felt like eating or drinking very much this week. So as a result of all of this, I now have an urinary tract infection and taking antibiotics. The medicine treating the infection does not seem to like my stomach either!!!!! I am now 30wks pregnant and had an ultrasound today. The technician said that Jake looks like he has some hair!!! Gracie was bald until she was one!! Everything looks great and I am measuring at excatly 30 wks. My placenta has moved up to where it is suppost to be. Jake gave us some good profile looks!! He loves to lay low,especially right on top of my bladder!!!! The nursery is almost finished and I promise pics soon. I will get the ultrasound photos on here as soon as I get them scanned. Plus you don't want to miss Gracie's Halloween pics!!!

A Sneak Peek At Jake's Room!

Brad has started the painting in Jake's room. We chose the colors blue and green. It has taken us forever to choose the blue that we liked!!!! Blue is a hard color to pick because there are so many shades of it!!! The room will be blue with the green and white stripe all around. I love the way it has turned out so far!!!! I hope Brad will finish this week so that I can post the finished room!!

Goofy Gracie!!!!

Gracie picked up a candle that was not lit!!!!! She started blowing into the jar and needless to say, her face came out black!! Brad and I were standing there while she was doing it and noticed the black ring and could not stop laughing!! She started laughing because we were laughing so hard!! Fun In The Mountains

My aunt and uncle came down for the weekend to help celebrate my mom's birthday. While they were visiting we went to Metcalf Bottoms in the Smokies. Gracie had the best time throwing rocks in the creek and playing with mimi and papa! We also got to witness an old fashion baptism! That is something that I have never seen before and let me tell you that it was very moving!!! I think that I would have froze to death, but the preacher and young man showed no signs of freezing!! God took the cold away!! I have included some pics of the baptism and wish that I would have had my other lens so that I could have took better photos!! Hope you enjoy the pics!!!

Preggo Update

I am now 28wks pregnant!!!! Jake will be here before we know it!!! We made a little trip to the labor triage this week at UT. They seem to think that I may have a kidney stone. I am feeling much better now and have not passed a kidney stone that I know of!! I have heard that they are very, very painful! Worse than childbirth!!!! I do not want to expereince that, since I am a c-section woman!!! I will go back to the dr on the 30th to have another ultrasound to see if my low lying placenta has moved up. The dr on staff at the triage did an ultrasound and he said that my placenta looks like it has moved up to where it should be!! The cure for low lying placenta is a c-section, which I will have anyways, but the risks are greater to bleed out when you have a low lying placenta. So praise the Lord that is has moved!!!!! Please continue to pray that this pregnancy will be a healthy one with no high blood pressure or kidney stones :( We know that God will see us through this!!!! I promise to post pics of the ultrasound and nursery soon!! Brad is currently painting the room :) Love, Joni

Happy Fall!!!

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Appalachian Fall festival! We had a great day with Uncle Wes, Cassie, Pop Pop and Gramma. It was a little hot, but we still had a good time! We drove up to Norris Damn afterwards. Gracie thought it was a large waterfall!! The leaves had turned some, but not much yet! There are alot of photos and I have not learned how to do the slide show thing!! Hope you enjoy the pics!!!

Update On The Owen Family

I have been such a slacker when it comes to blogging lately!!! We have been so busy the past couple of weeks! Brad and I stay busy from now until the end of the year with birthdays and holidays!!!! Gracie is doing great!! She goes to preschool on Tues. and Thurs, plus gymnastics on Wednesdays. She is also going to Childrens choir and veggie friends on Wed nights at church. She is such a little social butterfly!!!! We stay very busy those three days of the week! I am now almost 7 months pregnant!! This pregnancy is flying by!! Jake will be here before you know it! We almost have the nursery ready! The furniture is in there with the crib set up and everything is coming together! I will post pics soon! I went to the doctor on Monday and they are watching my blood pressure. My BP went up toward the end with my pregnancy with Gracie. Please pray that my BP will stay at a good level!!!! I go back on Monday for another check up. I think they are monitoring this pregnancy, since Gracie came a month early!!! I will have another ultrasound at 30wks, so I will post pics then of Jake! Gracie seems excited about Jake and asks everyday when he is coming out!! I hope she keeps this excitement when he gets here!!! Stay tuned for pictures soon! Happy Fall to everyone!!!!
